Domestic violence affects far too many lives in our nation:

• 1 in 4 women and 1 in 13 men experience domestic violence.

• It is the 2nd leading cause of death for pregnant women.

• 25–50% of adolescent mothers experience partner violence.

• By age 17, 27% of children have witnessed domestic violence.

• 15.5 million children are exposed every year.

• In 30–60% of homes with domestic violence, child abuse co-occurs.
